Meet the Imagination Behind Courtly Quilter

Kathy Bushart sees inspiration just about everywhere.  As a quilter, maker and designer, she combines the things she loves with a playful imagination to create original artwork filled with personality.

 

One day it might be an enchanting sewing fairy.  Another, a Highland cow, vintage sewing machine, pair of boots, or country windmill.  That's part of the fun of Courtly Quilter - you never quite know what Kathy will dream up next.

Start With a Fabric Block

With so many printed fabric blocks to choose from, picking just one may be the hardest part! Most blocks are grouped into collections featuring designs that coordinate beautifully or work well together in the same project.

Getting started is easy. Simply choose your favorite block or collection, remove the stabilization sheet, trim the block to the size you need, and start creating. From there, the possibilities are yours—let the block inspire your next project.

The Creative Process

Pick a block, or blocks, that makes you smile, then let the creative adventure begin! Wander through your fabric stash looking for the perfect companions, play with colors and patterns, and find a project that lets your whimsical block steal the show.
